Public Safety and Environment Sector Applications Open

Applications are open for BC Community Gaming Grants for the public safety and environment sectors on July 1, 2026.

Applications for the public safety and environment sectors will close on August 31.

Notifications for these sectors will be sent by November 30.

Which organizations are included in the public safety sector?

Any organization that delivers programs that contribute to the safety of communities

Examples of eligible programs

Programs eligible for Community Gaming Grants in the public safety sector include:

  • volunteer firefighting.
  • land or marine search and rescue.
  • amateur emergency radio.
  • trail and outdoor recreation safety
  • disaster relief and emergency preparedness
  • anti-racism programs (e.g., community-based resilience bc anti-racism network programs)
  • community crime prevention
  • restorative justice initiatives

Which organizations are included in the environment sector?

Any organization that delivers programs that revitalizes, protects or provides education about BC’s environment. Organizations that address animal welfare are also included in this sector.

Examples of eligible programs

Programs eligible for Community Gaming Grants in the environment sector include:

  • land stewardship
  • invasive species removal
  • greenbelt and watershed protection or maintenance
  • Public education.
  • Climate action
  • Promotion of agriculture, food production and local food systems.
  • Wildlife rescue and rehabilitation
